In a pathetic attempt to raise funds for Donald Trump’s laughable, highly unlikely re-election in 2020 (as well as pay for all those attorney fees!), Trump’s online campaign store has released a bunch of new summer merchandise — just in time for Memorial Day.
As you can probably already guess, most of it is pretty ridiculous — not only in price but in design. Trump’s selling simple beach towels for a whopping $65, and his “Make America Great Again” apparel has branched off into $55 swimsuits as well. The description the website touts for both men and women’s swimsuits is:
Make a YUGE splash poolside or at the beach this summer with our new swimwear!”
We’re not kidding:
This should really be advertised as “the fastest way to lose friends this summer.” Trump is even selling sunglass holders.
Each purchase is a contribution to the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a combined effort of the Trump presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee. Of course, some of the funds raised will be paying Trump’s ridiculous legal fees in the Russia investigation being conducted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
People have responded to the launch of the swimsuit items with both disgust and shock. Here are just some of the responses from Twitter:
We would love to see the public’s reaction to anyone who dares to wear these items outside. Being a Trump supporter has become shameful enough, and wearing a MAGA hat draws criticism everywhere. But wearing a Trump swimsuit and sporting a beach towel with the president’s name on it? That’s just an entirely new level of gross, but clearly, the Trump campaign is being forced to get more creative as those legal bills pile up. Desperate times all for desperate measures and this proves that Trump is hitting a wall.
